Beyblades, very popular spinning toys made by Hasbro, were being sold on the Internet by the thousands. About 80% of these Internet sold toys were manufactured by TT Hongli, a not authorized manufacturer. The sales of these huge amounts of replicas constituted a grand loss of revenue by Hasbro.
In just two days Pretection tracked and removed 172 TT Hongli items from the popular auction site eBay with a case written notice of infringement. These notices can also be send to professional sites selling the fake toys, or to their Internet Service Providers (ISP). After such a notice of infringement an ISP has to block access to the site or otherwise can be held liable for these infringements.
Pretection can provide specific written notices of infringement for every problem a company can encounter with Internet related problems. This is a fast, inexpensive and effective way to deal with these kind of problems.
